Spurs 3 – Watford 1

What can I say!!! C’mon Robbo. An 82 yard goal - even the keeper is scoring goals now!!

This is a brilliant run of form that Spurs have at the moment. Everyone is out there playing well and they are playing good, entertaining football, scoring at least 3 goals a game!!!!

This win put us to 6th in the premiership but Arsenal let us down, (on purpose me thinks) losing to Everton so we dropped to 7th yesterday.

The only fly in the ointment is that Mido is being less than useful. He wasted a couple of chances both on Saturday and also against Chelsea last week. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve always been a great fan of his, but he is going through a dry patch at the moment and needs to pull himself out of it. Particularly with the rest of the team playing so well, he looks particularly poor!!

We’ve got a tough game coming up now against Chelsea and we will have to put everything into it to get a win to take us into the semi’s. Certainly Spurs have the capacity to do it, and we did beat them here earlier in the season, but Mourhino is not going to let what is perhaps his last chance at the FA Cup slip away easily…..

Chelsea 3 – Spurs 3 (FA Cup)

OMG!!!

Another cracking game!!

If only Berbie and Lennon had stayed on, I reckon we would have kept the lead. We SO needed a win there to shut up so many doubting Thomas’s. We played exceptionally well in the first half but just seemed to lose momentum in the second half.

Mido? What was going on there? He’s a good player on a good day, but in this game he was PANTS. He was out of step with the rest of the team and just did not get into the game. Sorry MJ, but not the best substitution you’ve ever made.

And once again, we are let down by set pieces. We don’t deliver them well and we don’t convert them to good goal scoring chances. Compare our set pieces to Chelsea’s and they were 100 times better. I was literally praying every time they got a corner or free kick, that they would miss!!

So it’s back to White Hart Lane for another replay in a week or so. Another game in our schedule. We beat them there already this season, let’s hope we can do it again, because I truly believe we deserve it!!

Braga 2 – Spurs 3 (UEFA Cup)

Dang that was an exciting game!!!

You could feel the excitement and buzz that the players were experiencing it was that good. They really looked like they were enjoying themselves out there.

I couldn’t fault any of the Spurs players at all on the night, they all played exceptionally well.

The referee was good too, playing advantage when needed and letting the game flow. The only problems were the two decisions that he gave against us that resulted in their two goals!!!

No it’s not me being an over ardent supporter. I genuinely believe that he got it totally wrong on both occasions. Yes the ball hit his arm, but it was ball to hand and there was nothing he could have done about it from that range, and the penalty decision was just plain wrong.

The Braga players were playing for penalties and free kicks all night and it was to the ref’s credit that he only gave the two that he did. It’s just unfortunate that the two he got wrong resulted in goals.

If I were to critcise Spurs at all, it’s in their defence of set plays. We are pretty poor at that if we are honest and MJ needs to bang some heads and sort that if we are to progress in this and other competitions.

But 2-3 away from home in the first leg – I’ll take that!!! Looking forward now to the second leg next week at White Hart Lane.

West Ham 3 - Spurs 4

Gotta say this was the most exciting game that I have seen for a very long time. Absolutely sterling performance from both sides.

When I looked at the score at half time, I held my head in my hands and thought, "here we go again, same old inconsistent Spurs". So it was a pleasant suprise to see them do something that Spurs have in the past struggled to do. Come back from behind. Not once but twice.
I have to admit, I think that the penalty just after half time came at exactly the right time for us and helped the boys to hold their heads up and get stuck in.
For their part, West Ham had a lot to fight for and certainly tried their best, it was never an easy game with them fighting against the looming prospect of relegation.

Speaking as a Spurs fan though I've gotta say that it was rather satisfying to get that win to take our revenge for the end of last season when West Ham beat us, causing us to miss our place in the Champions League (not that I hold a grudge or anything!!).

Everton 1 - Spurs 2

Our first league win of 2007!!!! As it's then end of Feb now, that's a bit worrying, but hey, a win is a win after all.

Keano and Berbie did the biz for us like they did on the weekend, though we still seem to be leaking at the back !! OO ER MISSUS!!

Admittedly the decision by the ref seemed a bit odd, as the linesman flagged for a foul in our favour, and then the ref gave it to Everton, who then scored?!?!??!

At the end of the day though, we won and that's what matters, as we need to get confidence up for our cup tie against Chelsea in a few weeks time.

2 for 1

I must admit that I have been somewhat lax of late. I did not post my views on the last game against Sheffield Wednesday. Possibly I was getting a bit hacked off having to post doom and gloom - I dunno!!! But what can I say a third defeat against a team we should have beaten really, basically down to us playing badly. End Of. No excuses - we were crap!!!

Now to better news. Our FA Cup game against Fulham. RESULT!!!!! 4-0 and you can't ask for better than that. This is how we SHOULD be playing every week. Not just the scoreline, but the attitude of the players. You could see that they wanted to win (which was missing in the previous game).

More of this in the league and we will be up there as the best!!!

The only downside to this good news is that in the draw yesterday for the quarterfinals, we got Chelsea. I reckon that this is the toughest draw of all the games (assuming the other premiership teams win their replays), so we need another performance like Sunday's to win, which I know we can do.

C'mon you Spurs!!!!

Spurs 0 - Man U 4

What happened!!!

Half time 0-1 down, and thought ok, don't panic, we can still recover.

Full time 0-4. OMG!!!

Ah well, onwards and upwards, things can only get better!!

Arsenal 5 - Spurs 3

Pah - thats what I say.

So yes, i agree I would have been more than chuffed to bits if I had seen our boys beat Arsenal last nite in the Carling Cup Replay, but if I'm being honest with myself, the chances were slim, especially with some of our key players out.

Looking at it positively, it means the lads have a few less games to play so can afford to concentrate on other opportunities and if we had won last night we would have had Chelsea giving us a hard time in the next round so.......

....possibly a blessing in disguise??

All in all I think I can honestly and without bias say what a good effort the spurs boys put in last night especially Mido, with the threat of transfer hanging over him he still gets the goal. Good Job!!
